I found this good article about getting Raspbian Jessie Lite to boot with GUI. I found that I also had to run
sudo apt-get install xorg
to finally get it to work.
Been looking around and can’t seem to find an answer. I have Astroprint installed and working on a Raspberry Pi on my Taz5 printer. I’m wondering if it’s possible to control the astroprint software directly from the Pi, with a monitor, keyboard and mouse connected to the Raspberry Pi that’s running the Astroprint software.
I will have to remember this if I need to run more than one…
When they asked me to run the 3D-printing department over at TheLab.ms makerspace, I knew right away that we had to use OctoPrint. I’ve been using OctoPrint to run my MakerFarm Prusa i3 printer at home, and I have been very pleased with it.
I’ve done this before with my previous printers. Seems to work well with the TAZ 6 as well. Will always get some extraneous extrusion, no matter what you do. Minimizing it is worthwhile.
Not sure if anyone else runs into this but when I print skirts there is a decent chance they get pulled into the print. After I saw how the Prusa i3 Mk2 primed its nozzle by printing a line at the front of the bed where the printer never usually prints I got jealous.
